First Choral Rehearsal in the New Building

Well, we just had the first choral rehearsal in the new building and it was wonderful! The choir worked through lots of heat and noise and still made some lovely music. Being in a new acoustical space is proving to be very beneficial to me as it forces me to hear things I haven't heard (or chosen to ignore) for a while. For example, in the new acoustic, improving our diction is not optional! The new space will really require us to bring our diction up a notch, which will be a great thing! I am excited to see what more the space will reveal over time!

I am also excited to be heading out on a road trip tomorrow to see my amazing sister Chelsea and her incredible husband James in Austin. I will be mircobloging on twitter for most of the trip.

I hope all is well in your world! If you can, join us in Argyle on April 5th for our first Sunday in the new church!

The Prayer of St. Patrick

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Below you will find a prayer that is commonly attributed to St. Patrick. The prayer is beautiful and filled with images of Christ's sufficiency for our lives. Have a blessed day!

I arise today
Through the strength of heaven;

Light of the sun,
Splendor of fire,
Swiftness of wind,

Depth of the sea,
Stability of earth,
Firmness of rock.

I arise today
Through God's strength to pilot me;
God's might to uphold me,
God's wisdom to guide me,
God's hand to guard me.

Afar and anear,
Alone or in a multitude.

Christ shield me today
Against wounding:

Christ with me,
Christ before me,
Christ behind me,

Christ on my right,
Christ on my left,

Christ beneath me,
Christ above me,
Christ in me.

I arise today
Through the mighty strength

Of the Lord of Creation.

A Quick Run Down of the Last Few Weeks

As usual, I am not terribly faithful in my blogging habits. To be honest, I am a much better Twitterer!

These are exciting times for me in ministry for several reasons:

1. We are preparing to move AUMC to a new campus! The building looks great and is so close to being ready to be moved into I
can just taste it!

2. I feel like we have a lot of "ministry momentum" and that is always a precious commodity to be valued!

3. The FUMMWA Convocation Worship that I am chairing is starting to look very good!

4. I've got a summer gig coming up as the middle school choral clinician for the Texas Conference Choir Camp, which will be a
blast!

5. I just got back from ACDA and it was amazing!

Personally I am feeling exceedingly blessed today because it is Sarah and my eighth anniversary! I don't know how she's made it this long with me but I am incredibly thankful!

Well, time to finish preparing for my next handbell rehearsal!

I hope all is well in your life!
