A Beautiful Advent Poem by MaryAnn Jindra

This morning the Chancel Choir at Argyle UMC sang a beautiful Advent anthem with a text by MaryAnn Jindra with music by Libby Larson. It was lovely! Below you will find the poem which is a lovely reminder for us all during this season.

Lord, before this fleeting season is upon us,
let me remember to walk slowly.

Lord, bless my heart with Love and with quiet.
Give my heart a leaning to hear carols.

Grace our family with contentment,
and the peace that comes only from You.

Lord, help us to do less this busy season;
go less; stay closer to home; kneel more.

May our hearts be Your heart.
May we simply, peacefully, celebrate You.

A new ministry opportunity?

I'm thinking this just might be the new ministry for me! One of our AUMC members, Greg Bristow, has started a motorcycle ministry! I so wish I could participate. Unfortunately, there are a two key items that will keep me from being a part of this new ministry:

1. I don't have a motorcycle license.
2. Perhaps even more importantly, I don't have a motorcycle.

I suppose that, for the time being, I'll just have to support this ministry from afar!

What a cool ministry!

Thanksgiving

Ahhh...the last two days have been wonderful! Sarah, the kids and I, have been hanging with our family. We spent Wednesday with my family and Thursday with Sarah's. It's been an incredible blessing to just HANG! I hope you have had a relaxing week as well!

A Quote from Shane Claiborne

Here's a great quote from Shane Claiborne on prayer: "Prayer is not so much about convincing God to do what we want God to do as it is about convincing ourselves to do what God wants us to do."

Truth!
